One can pull it back just a tad.like a 16th of an inch, but then it stops.Īny ideas on how one can get the rascal out? When apart I can see all 8 empty cartridges. It is like brand new and clean as a whistle in there, so it does not look like dirt or corrosion would cause it to stick. I showed him how to take it apart, but we still could not get the enbloc out. The problem is that there is an enbloc with 8 expended rounds in the magazine. It's a Springfield and looks late WWII with a serial number range of 3716XXX which dates to about April of 1945, I believe. His father sent the gun back in several pieces to avoid detection before he returned home. His father was in the 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Division during WWII.
